9 Rounds for the Open Section

For 2022, the 57th American Open Chess Championship will have 9 rounds for the Open Section. Games will be FIDE and US Chess rated. This will provide an opportunity to earn NORMs for players working on getting their chess titles.

For Grandmasters and International Masters with a foreign FIDE affiliation, please contact us by clicking on this form. Minimum prizes for Foreign GM/WGM ($1,000) and US GM/WGM ($700) who registers by August 31, 2022 and play all nine rounds.

Other Items to Note:

• Under 2200 section will also be FIDE and US Chess rated games.
• There is a 4-day (Th-Su) and a 3-day (F-Su) schedule for Under 2200 sections and below.
