Chess camp for players in Kindergarten to 12th Grandmaster at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Orange County. Prep before the American Open tournaments. Camp starts at 10 am to 3 pm.
Grandmaster Simul Exhibition
Friday, November 28
Play with a Grandmaster! GM Ehsan will play with more than 60 players at once. Register and save your seat. Open to kids and adults of all levels.
Grandmaster Lectures
Saturday, November 29 and Sunday, November 30
Presenting Grandmaster Melik Khachiyan, 8-time American Open champion and Head Coach for the U.S. Women’s Olympic Team (since 2010), who will give lectures for this event!
Blitz Tournament
Saturday, November 29
The Blitz tournament will be on Saturday evening and will have five rounds double-swiss of speed chess.
Time control : Game 5 minutes
Evening Schedule: 9:30 pm -10:00 pm – 10:30 pm – 11:00 pm – 11:30 pm (five-rounds double-SS)
Action Tournament
Sunday, November 30
The Action tournament is for those interested in quicker games to be completed in just a day. This side event is held on Sunday of the Thanksgiving weekend.
Time control: Game 30 minutes/5 sec delay
Rounds: 12:00 pm – 1:15 pm – 3:00 pm – 4:15 pm – 5:30 pm (5-rounds SS)
